QA Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic QA Manager with 5 or more years of experience to provide leadership, direction, expertise, and hands-on help to a QA team responsible for certifying the level of quality of our applications. As the team leader, the individual will work with a variety of groups across multiple disciplines to improve, streamline, integrate, and communicate the build, test, and release cycles for products of all sizes and varying technologies.




Key Responsibilities:


Manage the end to end QA and user experience process at Openbravo, specially ensuring the quality of the professional edition
Coordinate the interaction between QA, product management, development, and the Openbravo partners and open source community
Identify, implement and develop the most appropriate tools and applications for quality management, bug-tracking, reporting and analysis
Build, maintain and continuously improve the test suite, and automate it as much as possible
Participate in test design, coding and testing
Participate in design reviews



Skills Required:


Black box software testing, and test automation experience (5+ years)
Perfectionist and motivated to fine tune the details of software designs with a special concern for user experience
Strong command over the build, test and release cycles
Ability to create test cases and test suites
Hands-on experience with leading proprietary as well as open source testing tools (Sahi experience will be a plus)
Thorough understanding of and implementation experience with software change management processes
Ability to take initiative and be self-directing
Proven experience hiring and mentoring others
Strong analytical thinking skills, and ability to institute appropriate processes
Strong communication skills (written/oral)
Previous experience with business applications, notably ERPs and CRMs
Field experience, and technology background, specially in J2EE web based environments (Servlet containers, Java, HTML, …), databases (Oracle, SQL, …), and open source platforms in general is required (Spring and Hibernate experience will be a plus)
Ability to set up software development environments both in Linux and Windows
Previous experience of testing in Open Source environments a plus



Educational Requirements:


BS or MS in Computer Science or related field of education
