My client is a global, highly reputable commercial organisation from the online travel industry who has a reputation for originality, quality and excellence in the market place.

Due to highly ambitious growth plans, they are currently looking to recruit a competent and confident individual into the position of Market Manager (home base in Barcelona).

The key elements of this highly value-adding role are to include Business Generation, Client Management, Strategic Business Development, Vertical Market Penetration, and Financial & Market Reporting.

In what is a broad and varied brief, key responsibilities are to include:

 Develop business plan for local market.
 Identify and deliver new sales opportunities across Group product areas.
 Optimize revenue through the acquisition and management of inventory, rates and promotions.
 Secure and negotiate competitive rates and inventory to meet room night targets and KPIs.
 Win new clients and ensure sales budget met within cost budget.
 Establish client contact. Identify and deliver new sales opportunities from existing client contacts.
 Develop and maintain excellent client relationships. Principal point of contact for client.
 Provide guidance on marketing and advertising activities for assigned territory.
 Monitor project progress and liaise with other business areas to develop other potential opportunities.
 Develop pan Group sales opportunities. Maintain contact with key contacts within client organisation.
 Make recommendations to contribute to development of strategy for products and services in local market.
 Lead any initiatives to adapt products to meet local needs and requirements.
 Make appropriate recommendations for establishing local office representation.
 Develop relationships with key partners and third party organisations.
 Work with key divisions and individuals within the business in order to develop new opportunities.
 Contribute to Group knowledge of vertical markets.
 Principal contact with appropriate organisations, trade bodies, etc. in local market. Raise awareness of the client as market place leaders.
 Production of timely monthly reports. Ensure client invoices and debts are managed promptly.
 Conduct weekly competitive analysis for hotels.
 Proactive identification and progression through own Personal Development Plan to extend business, technical and interpersonal expertise.
 Monitor fulfilment performance by hotel suppliers and address any concerns.

In order to fulfil the potential within the roles, it is envisaged that the candidates should have the following skill set/experience:

 University degree
 A track record in Sales and Business Development.
 Excellent negotiation skills
 Experience from within or from selling to the Travel Industry, Hotel Chains or related industries is a must.
 Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of hotel revenue management experience in the hospitality industry.
 Readiness to travel across the home country.
 Ability to act on own initiative, self-starter attitude, strong communication skills.
 Ability to build effective relationships with all levels of management.
 Proficiency in MS Office applications.
 Fluency in English and Spanish.
