PROCESS SAFETY MANAGER - GERMAN AND ENGLISH SPEAKING

Due to business growth, our client's global Environment, Health and Safety capability requires a driven, talented and capable process safety expert to drive world class, high hazard, EHS strategies across one UK and three German manufacturing plants. Working with a world-class team the role has the opportunity to gain exposure to additional UK, Dutch and other Europe wide projects.


Job Responsibilities

• Review current safety processes, identify development areas and drive improvement initiatives as per compliance requirements
• Ensure site Engineers and EHS professionals comprehend, implement and adhere to best-practice, high hazard, process safety standards
• Investigate site incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement first-rate
• Review government authority process safety documentation
• Ensure closure of improvement initiatives through audits and self-assessment
• Manage internal/external consulting resource as required


Qualifications

Essential skills and background

• Solid English and German language skills (written and oral)
• Hands on experience of implementing Process Safety Management systems
• Demonstrable experience in the chemical manufacturing industry ideally with first hand knowledge of high hazard Seveso 2 sites
• Knowledge EU laws affecting PSM e.g. Seveso, COMAH, 12 BIMSchV and of OSHA PSM regulations
• Training and experience in leading PHAs, including HAZOP methodology.

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar

Desirable skills and background

Fluent in Dutch
Previous experience working for a multinational company
Professional qualification in E,H&S
