QA Specialist Team Leader


Our client is searching for a QA Specialist Team Leader to be responsible to ensure that all delivered software is properly tested against functional specifications and complies with quality expectations, prior to deployment to Production.

Key Responsibilities / Activities

• To manage resources and timeframes so that proper User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is performed;
• Create test plans that can be followed as scripts by users as acceptance tests;
• Create, document and maintain “best practice” processes for all aspects of the QA area;
• Mange the creation and use of automated acceptance testing wherever possible;
• Ensure adequate load testing is performed on the applications;
• Ensure adequate security testing is performed on the code and the web applications;
• Create and maintain a working relationship with all vendors and other groups that deliver software to the business;
• Create and maintain a working relationship with business heads and other business stakeholders, to ensure that all requirements and timeframes are understood;
• Create & maintain a working relationship with the IT infrastructure staff, to ensure test environments are ready and representative at the correct times;
• Ensure all bugs found in UAT/QA are recorded, and passed back to vendors and/or program teams;
• Ensure adequate Reporting on the UAT/QA to the business with recommendations. Participate in the deploy/not deploy decision making process;
• Mange and motivate QA/UAT team(s) to ensure effective team working;
• Other tasks as directed

Experience / Qualifications Requirements

• 3 + years of experience functional testing, Quality Assurance testing and User Acceptance testing;
• Ability to communicate effectively, in English, in writing and vocally with Business heads and Vendors;
• Experience dealing with Project Managers and working with a project support environment (i.e. a PMO);
• Experience using automated testing tools from various suppliers (Mercury is preferred);
• Broad experience in Web based applications and browsers, preferably in a gaming environment;
• Exposure to a wide range of platform setups e.g. Linux/Solaris, Oracle, Windows, SQL server etc.

Technical Skills / Competencies
• Good working knowledge of QA/UAT methodologies;
• Understanding of the functions and use of automated testing tools for web based applications;
• Understanding of E-commerce and the gaming industry in general;
• Ability to write effective and concise reports, and test plans in Word and Excel.

Salary is £ £45- 50k
